4 Paramount High School Students Hit and Injured by Speeding Car

PARAMOUNT (March 19, 2018) – Four high school students were injured, one seriously, after being hit by a car in the area of Rosecrans and Downey avenues Monday afternoon, according to KTLA and NBC Los Angeles.

The accident took place just after 3 p.m. near Paramount High School.

As per the reports, officials said four Paramount High School students were leaving their campus when at the same time a black pickup truck was allegedly speeding down Downey Avenue and was attempting to cut in front of another vehicle.

The driver, 19-year-old Saul Martinez, lost control of his truck and went onto the sidewalk where he struck three girls and a boy.

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and transported all four juveniles to trauma centers for treatment. At least one victim was listed in serious condition. Their names were not released.

Meanwhile, officers affirmed that Martinez was arrested on suspicion of reckless driving. The incident is still under investigation.
