Sunday: 2 Dead, 3 Injured in Paso Robles Car Accident
PASO ROBLES (April 3, 2017)- According to the San Luis Obispo Tribune, a deadly collision took place Sunday morning at the intersection of Highway 46 and Buena Vista Drive.
Two vehicles were involved in the crash which occurred at roughly 8:30 a.m. including a Honda and a Ford Expedition.
Per the Tribune, the driver of the Ford blew through a red light triggering an accident with the Honda driver.
Both the male driver of the SUV and a woman sitting front seat passenger who was ejected from the vehicle both tragically sustained fatal injuries as they were pronounced at the scene. They were identified in The Fresno Bee respectively as 52-year-old Lawrence Alphonso Lopez and 78-year-old Virginia Mary Stone.
A total of three others were injured, two passengers in the Ford and the driver of the Honda, all who were transported to Sierra Vista Regional Med Center. Their injuries were described as being moderate as they are all expected to survive and make a full recovery.
Traffic remained backed up for nearly 3.5 hours while Paso Robles police officials perused the scene.
It remains unclear whether drugs, alcohol or any other factors played a role in this incident as the investigation is pending.
