Man Killed in Deadly Hit-and-Run on Highway 101
PASO ROBLES (October 11, 2018)- According to the San Luis Obispo Tribune, a deadly pedestrian versus auto hit-and-run took place this morning in the southbound lanes of Highway 101 just north of 13th Street.
California Highway Patrol officials were dispatched to the scene of the collision which transpired at roughly 5:00 a.m.
Preliminary investigations suggest that an unidentified male subject had either been attempting to walk or run across Highway 101 before being hit by a vehicle traveling southbound.
The male victim sadly did not survive the impact of the collision leaving him with fatal injuries as he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver of the unknown involved vehicle failed to stop and proceeded to flee the scene, per the San Luis Obispo Tribune.
Following the incident, southbound lanes of Highway 101 remained completely shut down for approximately 2.5 hours until 7:30 a.m.
