PASO ROBLES, California (July 25, 2016) – According to California Highway Patrol dispatch, a major injury collision was reported on northbound Highway 101 at North Spring Street off-ramp Monday afternoon.
The 2-vehicle crash was reported at 5:12 p.m.
The incident which involved a Ford Ranger driven by Sean Coffin, 27, and a second vehicle driven by Michael Lockwood, 35, who had two other passengers in his vehicle including Melissa Lockwood, 29.
Reports confirm that Sean Coffin was heading northbound before likely experiencing a medical emergency causing him to lose control and collide into Lockwood.
The wreck resulted in major injuries to both Michael and Melissa Lockwood as they were transported to a trauma center. A 13-year-old girl in their vehicle was also hurt with minor injuries.
Coffin sustained major injuries and was rushed to a hospital.
Police officials do not believe drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash.
