Motorcyclist Taken to Sierra Vista Regional

PASO ROBLES (August 22, 2017)- According to the Paso Robles Daily News, a serious collision was reported Monday afternoon at the intersection of Spring and 7th streets.

The incident took place at 2:32 p.m. involving a motorcycle and a gray Chevy sedan.

Per the article, the motorcyclist had been headed northbound along Spring Street prior to the driver of the Chevy attempting to make a left hand turn from 7th onto Spring Street. The driver of the Chevy pulled directly into the path of the motorcyclist triggering a crash as impact occurred on the driver’s side front bumper.

The unidentified rider was thrown from his bike onto the pavement where he sustained moderate to major injuries. Paramedics transported the victim by ambulance to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center where his condition has not yet been updated.

The Paso Robles Police Department was dispatched to the scene where they shut down a good chunk of Spring Street between 6th Street and 8th Street during the collision investigation before reopening it at roughly 3:30 p.m.

A forensic examination of both the vehicle and motorcycle, as well as photos that were taken of the scene, will help investigators determine which party ultimately caused the accident. Other potential factors will be looked into as well including whether or not either the driver or motorcyclist were under the influence at the time of the accident? Was either party driver driving recklessly or over the speed limit prior to impact? What were the road conditions and how was the lighting in the vicinity of where the accident occurred? Each of these factors will be assessed allowing police officials to draw up a final conclusion.

Without the representation of a lawyer, insurance companies might make contact with you directly, and since they are trained to protect their best interests, this could mean a loss of rights on your behalf, especially if you unknowingly sign something that they didn't completely explain to you.
