Boy Riding a Scooter Hit on Cedarwood Drive
PASO ROBLES, Calif. (June 19, 2023) — A driver struck an 8-year-old boy riding a scooter at Cedarwood Drive and Teak Drive in Paso Robles.
A report by the Paso Robles Police Department said the collision occurred around 6:15 p.m. on Sunday, June 18th at the intersection, KSBY reports.
The boy was riding a self-propelled scooter when he attempted to cross the street.
The driver was traveling westbound on Cedarwood Drive at about 10 to 15 miles per hour and struck the child. Investigators do not know if the boy looked for vehicles before crossing the roadway. The motorist told authorities they were unable to stop and struck the boy.
Police do not suspect drugs or alcohol were factors in the pedestrian accident on Cedarwood Drive.
Paramedics responded and transported the boy to a hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.
