Female Severely Injured in Motorcycle Crash in Phelan
PHELAN, Calif. (Dec. 26, 2024) — A passenger riding on a motorcycle was critically injured Christmas Day in a motorcycle crash on Phelan Road at Anderson Ranch.
The incident occurred at 9:25 p.m. on December 25th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A driver in an older model Honda Civic and a male on a black motorcyclist with a female passenger were involved, according to Victor Valley News Group.
The two vehicles were traveling east on Phelan Road when the motorcycle rider tried to pass the vehicle on its left side.
The driver in the car had its left turn signal on and began to make a left turn onto Anderson Ranch Road, the report said.
That’s when the sedan clipped the motorcycle and its rider lost control, police said.
The male driver and his female passenger were both thrown off the bike. The female passenger sustained a severe traumatic head injury.
Paramedics responded and requested a medical helicopter to transport the female passenger to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. There were no other serious injuries reported.
The California Highway Patrol’s Victorville station is heading up the investigation into the circumstances leading up to the crash. However, they do not suspect drugs and/or alcohol were involved.
