Pedestrian Patricia Nelson, 87, Killed in Clovis Shopping Center Parking Lot Crash
CLOVIS, CA (October 25, 2022) – Pedestrian Patricia Nelson was killed after a crash in the parking lot of a Clovis shopping center.
The coroner’s office identified the 87-year-old woman as the victim of the fatal accident which took place on Saturday.
The incident happened when Patricia Nelson was walking in the Sonic Drive-In parking lot at the Sunflower Marketplace shopping center in Clovis.
Police said a Chevrolet Malibu made a left turn in the parking lot and struck her. The shopping center is located on Shaw Avenue near Villa Avenue.
Woman Hit by Car
The Fresno Bee and Your Central Valley wrote that the collision occurred on October 22 at around 11 a.m. Patricia Nelson ended up pinned underneath the car as a result of the parking lot accident.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and then rescued her. The victim sustained life-threatening injuries following the incident.
Medical personnel rushed the victim to a hospital and listed her in critical condition. The report affirmed that she soon died.
Meanwhile, police added that the driver failed to see the pedestrian walking in the area and hit her. The motorist stopped and stayed at the site following the collision.
The cause of the Clovis parking lot crash is still under investigation.
