Carlsbad Woman Dies Following Injuries from Traffic Collision
CARLSBAD, Calif. (June 4, 2025) — Patricia Marie Roberts, 82, has died from injuries sustained in a vehicle collision last month, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The Carlsbad woman was involved in a traffic accident on May 16, 2025, at approximately 11:48 a.m. at the intersection of El Camino Real and Jackspar Drive in Carlsbad. Roberts was driving a vehicle that collided with a van. Emergency services responded to the scene and transported her to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido.
Patricia Roberts Dies May 24th at Hospital
Despite receiving treatment for multiple injuries—including rib and pelvic fractures—Roberts remained hospitalized until she succumbed to complications from her injuries on May 24, 2025, at 8:01 p.m.
The Medical Examiner’s Office listed the cause of death as “complications of recent blunt force injuries of trunk and extremities,” with no contributing conditions. Her death was ruled an accident.
Roberts was a resident of Carlsbad. Her next of kin has been notified. The incident remains under investigation by local authorities.
