Patrick Dempsey, 60, Seriously Injured in Tehama County Crash on Malton Switch Road

TEHAMA COUNTY, CA (December 12, 2022) – A fatal crash seriously injured Patrick Dempsey at Malton Switch Road and County Road P in Tehama County.

The California Highway Patrol identified the 60-year-old man as the victim of the wreck which occurred last week on Friday.

The incident happened wen Patrick Dempsey, of Chico, was driving a Ford Transit west on Malton Switch Road in Tehama County.

At the same time, a Chevrolet Camaro north on County Road P. For an unknow reason, its female driver failed to yield the right of way to the Ford.

Maria Wilfong, 59, Killed in Wreck

CHP said in the process, the 59-year-old Orland woman slammed into the Transit van. The two cars crashed at the Tehama and Glenn County line.

The Red Bluff Daily News and Action News Now wrote that collision took place on December 9 at about 4:10 p.m. Patrick Dempsey sustained major injuries as a result of the crash.

A helicopter flew him to the Enloe Medical Center for treatment. Officers added that the motorist in the Chevrolet, Maria Wilfong, died at the scene of the accident.

Meanwhile, CHP forced the area to shut down for a time following the wreck. The cause of Tehama County crash is still under investigation.
