Street Race Ends in Deadly Car Accident on Main Street
Irvine, CA (March 26, 2021) – Authorities identified 47-year-old Patrick Le as the driver who triggered a head-on car crash that killed one person on July 3, 2018.
According to My News LA, Patrick Le was behind the wheel of a Acura RL traveling on Main Street in Irvine. Preliminary investigation revealed the Acura was at a stop adjacent to a Hyundai Veloster at the Red Hill Avenue intersection. When the light turned green, Patrick Le reportedly took off at a high rate of speed.
Officials said the driver of the Veloster bus then followed the Acura. The two motorists drove faster than other vehicles in the area and eventually appeared to be racing each other.
When the Acura and Veloster approached the intersection at Main Street and 55 Freeway, Patrick Le crossed the double yellow lines and veered into opposite traffic. Our sources indicated the Acura eventually crashed head-on into a vehicle driven by a 43-year-old woman.
The collision instantly killed the innocent female driver, later identified as Carmella Van.
Patrick Le Imprisoned in Irvine Fatal Car Crash
Meanwhile, recent reports indicated Patrick Le pleaded guilty on March 26, Friday. The court sentenced the man four years in prison in relation with the catastrophic incident.
