Patrick Mount, 57, Arrested For DUI and Hit-and-Run After Long Beach Crash
LONG BEACH, CA (July 7, 2021) – Authorities detained Patrick Mount after a hit-and-run crash that killed a man in Long Beach.
Police identified the 57-year-old Long Beach man as the suspect in the fatal accident which took place on Wednesday.
The incident began when 54-year-old Compton resident Darnell Bluitt and another man were pushing a disabled 1993 Acura sedan. They were on westbound Artesia Boulevard at Butler Avenue at the time.
Long Beach police said Patrick Mount approached the area and struck Darnell Bluitt. He hit the two pedestrians and the Acura with his 2010 GMC truck.

Darnell Bluitt died as a result of the accident. The Press Telegram and My News LA wrote that the wreck occurred at about 3:45 a.m. near the 710 Freeway overpass.
Paramedics took the 43-year-old Compton woman steering the Acura to a hospital for treatment. She sustained unspecified injuries upon impact.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that Patrick Mount did not stop to help the victims and fled to a nearby neighborhood. Officers later found the GMC truck involved.
Authorities soon arrested Patrick Mount on suspicion of DUI, hit-and-run and vehicular manslaughter. They booked him in lieu of a $100,000 bail.
