Homeless Man Hospitalized After Collision at Mariposa Mall Plaza
Fresno, CA (October 23, 2022) – An injury accident involving a Fresno patrol vehicle occurred on the Mariposa Mall plaza, the Fresno Bee and Your Central Valley News reported.
Our sources indicated a homeless man was sleeping on the Mariposa Mall walkway; just in front of the downtown Fresno Police Department headquarters. For reasons still unclear, a police officer driving a patrol vehicle ran over the man on the sidewalk.
The accident happened on August 1.
According to the article published online, the victim ended up with his upper torso pinned underneath the front and back wheels of the police car. Responding firefighter paramedics rendered aid to the homeless man, and transported him to a hospital for further treatment. Personal information on the patient remained undisclosed pending confirmation.
Officials recently reported the officer involved in the crash could be disciplined following the investigation.
