Paul Brown, 41, Killed in Brooktrails Hit-and-Run Crash on Sherwood Road
MENDOCINO COUNTY, CA (May 10, 2021) – Paul Brown was killed after a hit-and-run crash on Sherwood Road in Brooktrails.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 41-year-old Fort Bragg man as the victim of the fatal accident which occurred last week, on Friday.
The incident began when Paul Brown was walking west on the south asphalt shoulder of Sherwood Road in Brooktrails. At the same time, a 2019 silver Hyundai Accent was going west on Sherwood.
For an unknown reason, the vehicle crossed over into the eastbound lane. CHP said the Hyundai then struck Paul Brown east of Birch Terrace.
Pedestrian Hit by Car in Mendocino County
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and found the victim left lying on the ground. He died as a result of the collision.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the driver of the Accent did not stop to render aid to the pedestrian and fled west on Sherwood. The car obtained front damage on its left headlight assembly and front bumper.
The Ukiah Daily Journal and The Willits News wrote that the officers reported the accident on May 7 at about 1:20 a.m. The fatal Brooktrails hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
