Teenager Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Mesa Rock Road Near Mesa Ranch Drive
Escondido, CA (September 16, 2021) – On June 6, 2020, Paul Anthony Lissona struck a pedestrian in the area of Mesa Rock Road and Mesa Ranch Drive in Escondido.
The ABC10 News reported Lissona, a man from Escondido, was behind the wheel of a Toyota Highlander traveling north on Mesa Rock Road. When the motorist approached the intersection at Mesa Ranch Drive, Paul Lissona accidentally hit a teenager.
Emergency teams arrived at the location shortly after 12:35 a.m. Responding paramedics performed life-saving measures to the teenager, but the 17-year-old girl sadly died at the scene.
Paul Lissona Suspect in Escondido Deadly Pedestrian Accident
The following day, police located and arrested Paul Lissona. The man eventually pleaded guilty to a felony hit-and-run charge in connection with the death of the teenager.
Further investigation on the case is underway.
