Motorcyclist Injured in Collision With Pickup Truck

February 4, 2019- According to the California Highway Patrol, a motorcyclist suffered major injuries following a collision Saturday evening.
The incident occurred at precisely 5:55 p.m. on Gate Drive near 4th Street.
According to the report, the motorcyclist was struck by a truck driver attempting to change lanes who failed to see the rider ID’d as Paul Willard, 31, of Madera.
The collision left Willard with moderate injuries as he remains in stable condition as of Monday morning.
Meanwhile, there was no information or details provided on the involved motorist driving the pickup truck as it remains unclear whether or not they were injured in the collision.
Following the crash, Gate Drive new 4th was shut down for nearly two hours while California Highway Patrol officials spoke to witnesses and gathered evidence.

CHP will carry out a forensic examination of both the vehicle and the motorcycle, as well as photos that were taken of the scene, will help investigators determine what exactly happened.
