Suspect Sought by Police after Woman Critically Injured in Hit-and-run Crash
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (April 11, 2019) – Paulino Diego Pedro, 30, has been identified as the suspect who reportedly fled the scene of a pedestrian accident on Jefferson Boulevard that left a 20-year-old woman seriously injured.
The collision took place about 3:20 p.m. on March 22nd near San Pedro Street. The young woman was attempting to enter her parked car when she was struck by Pedro’s white SUV. The suspect fled the scene without stopping to help her and abandoned his vehicle roughly two blocks away, the .
The injured woman was rushed to a hospital and treated for multiple fractures and she had her right foot amputated.
Police were aided by surveillance footage that helped them identify Pedro as the suspect. His ties to the Los Angeles and Riverside communities are known and a reward of up to $25,000 should help encourage someone to come forward with information about his whereabouts.
