Pedestrian Killed in Pearblossom Accident on State Route 138
PEARBLOSSOM, CA (June 8, 2021) – A pedestrian was killed after an accident on State Route 138 in Pearblossom.
According to The Antelope Valley Times and My News LA, the tragic collision took place on Monday night. Officers reported the crash at around 9:34 p.m.
The incident happened on June 7 when a male pedestrian was walking northbound across State Route 138 in Pearblossom. At the same time, a 2008 Saturn Aura was going west.
The California Highway Patrol said the driver failed to see the 34-year-old Pearblossom man due to the poor lighting conditions in the area. In the process, the car struck him.

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the site, west of 121st Street East, and found the victim lying on the ground. They soon pronounced him dead at the scene.
The name of the deceased man remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist stopped after hitting the person.
The driver, 22-year-old Palmdale resident Jerry Matthew Tate, stayed and cooperated with the authorities. Officials forced a portion of State Route 138 to close following the collision.
The cause of the fatal Pearblossom pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
