Officials said a person was struck by a vehicle at the intersection around 8:00 p.m. on March 25. The impact caused major injuries to the pedestrian who initially refused receiving medical care.

Responding medics insisted on providing hospital treatment to the injured, and transported the victim to Kern Medical Center.

As per the article, the involved motorist stayed at the scene following the crash and cooperated with the investigation.

It is unknown if drugs or alcohol are being considered factors.
