Pedestrian Struck, Killed on Golden State Freeway
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Dec. 1, 2022) – A pedestrian accident involving a semi truck happened early Thursday morning on the Golden State Freeway near Lincoln Heights.
The deadly hit-and-run crash occurred at 3:37 a.m. on Dec. 1st at the Mission Road on ramp from the southbound Interstate 5 Freeway. Authorities located a pedestrian deceased at the scene, but the motorist had continued on without stopping, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Witnesses told authorities the semi-truck drove southbound on the freeway and never stopped to help the victim.
Paramedics responded, but unfortunately the pedestrian died at the scene. The Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner will release the victim’s name, age and gender after relatives are notified.
Police issued a SigAlert due to the crash and subsequent CHP investigation.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault.
