Pedestrian Accident on State Route 132

MODESTO COUNTY, Calif. (Oct. 5, 2023) — A major injury pedestrian accident happened Thursday afternoon on State Route Highway 132 in Empire.

The collision occurred in the westbound lanes of SR-132 around 3:25 p.m. on Oct. 5th, just east of Modesto, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP dispatch operators reported a driver in a black Lexus struck a pedestrian due to unknown circumstances.

CHP deputies and paramedics responded to the scene and located the person suffering from major injuries.

An ambulance transported the pedestrian to a hospital for further treatment.

Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the accident on Highway 132.
