Man Struck by Vehicle is Hospitalized with Major Injuries

Valley Springs, Calif. (Feb. 7, 2024) — A major injury pedestrian accident happened early Wednesday morning on Highway 26 in near the golf course in Valley Springs, Calaveras County.

It happened at around 3:30 a.m. on Highway 26 near the La Contenta Golf Course, according to the California Highway Patrol and MyMotherLode.

CHP officials reported they responded to the scene, along with the Calaveras Consolidated Fire Department, and found the victim in the roadway with major injuries.

Also, the injured man was transported to the Central Valley for further medical treatment.

Authorities investigating the crash stated the victim was standing in the road when he was hit by an oncoming motorist.

Meanwhile, the driver stopped their vehicle and cooperated with the investigation into what happened.
