Major Injury Pedestrian Accident in Martinez

MARTINEZ, Calif. (Oct. 16, 2023) — A pedestrian was struck by an SUV on Highway 4 near Pine Street in Marinez, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officials reported the collision occurred at around 12:12 p.m. on Oct. 16th on John Muir Parkway.

A driver in a GMC Denali or Chrysler SUV reportedly hit the person in the westbound lanes of State Route 4 due to unknown circumstances.

Paramedics responded with an ambulance to help the pedestrian who sustained major injuries. They transported the person to a hospital for further treatment.

Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the crash on Highway 4 in Martinez.
