Pedestrian Fighting for His Life After Car Accident
LA JOLLA, California (Oct. 13, 2017) — A 59-year-old man was seriously injured Thursday night when he was struck by a motorist while crossing La Jolla Shores Drive, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The pedestrian accident was reported about 5:50 p.m. last night. Police say a 65-year-old man driving a Chevrolet Spark was heading westbound on Downwind Way prior to the collision. The victim was crossing La Jolla Shores Drive when the vehicle turned south onto La Jolla Shores and struck the man who was in a crosswalk.
Paramedics responded and transported the injured man to a hospital where he is being treated for multiple, serious life-threatening injuries.
The collision is under investigation by the San Diego Police Traffic Division.
