Man Seriously Injured in Crash on Market Street
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Nov. 1, 2023) — A driver struck a 40-year-old man in a pedestrian accident on Market Street Halloween night in the Sherman Heights area of San Diego.
The collision occurred at around 9:51 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 31st, near the intersection with 25th Street, according to the Times of San Diego.
The news report stated a 20-year-old man driving a 2005 Infiniti G35 coupe was traveling west on Market Street near 25th Street at the same time the pedestrian was walking in the roadway. Police reported the pedestrian entered the roadway against a red traffic light and the motorist had a green light. The driver struck the pedestrian and left him with life-threatening injuries.
Paramedics responded and rushed the injured pedestrian to a hospital to treat his fractured pelvis and a brain bleed.
The San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division is heading up the investigation, but at this time alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
