Pedestrian Hit in Rollover Crash on State Route 38
MENTONE, Calif. (Jan. 3, 2024) — A pedestrian was injured Wednesday afternoon when a car hit him while standing next to his parked vehicle on Mill Creek Road also known as Highway 38 in Mentone.
The major injury crash occurred at 2402 Mill Creek Road at around 3:12 p.m. on Jan. 3rd, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported a male driver parked his car, got out and was hit by an oncoming silver Kia sedan, The Kia reportedly hit the left side of the man’s parked vehicle and then the pedestrian before it overturned.
Paramedics responded and located the Kia sedan overturned on its roof and the man from the other vehicle suffering major injuries and laying on the ground.
The woman who was driving the Kia was bleeding and required medical attention.
Paramedics transported the injured to a hospital.
Meanwhile, investigators are working on the case to determine fault.
