Pedestrian Accident on Highway 29, Mockingbird Lane in Lake County

LAKE COUNTY, Calif., (Oct. 8, 2026) — A pedestrian accident occurred early Thursday morning on Highway 29 near Mockingbird Lane in the Upper Lake area of Lake County.

The incident was reported on Oct. 8th at approximately 4:02 a.m. when a vehicle reportedly struck a pedestrian who was in the middle of the southbound lanes of State Route 29, according to the California Highway Patrol. The collision occurred in the southbound lanes just north of the intersection with Mockingbird Lane.

The pedestrian, whose identity and age have not been disclosed, sustained significant injuries and was found off the roadway following the crash. Emergency responders, including paramedics from the nearby St. Helena area, were notified and arrived on the scene to provide medical assistance. The extent of the pedestrian’s injuries has been classified as major, and they were transported to a local hospital for further treatment.

Authorities have confirmed that there were no other vehicles involved in the collision. The driver, who was reportedly in a car at the time of the incident, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

The California Highway Patrol is currently investigating the circumstances leading up to the collision. They are seeking any witnesses who may have observed the incident to come forward with information that could aid in the investigation.
