Pedestrian Critically Injured in Hit-and-run Crash
TAFT, Calif. (May 16, 2023) — A pedestrian was critically injured in a hit-and-run crash on Taft Highway 119 on Monday night in Kern County.
A driver reportedly struck the victim around 9 p.m. on Monday, May 15th at Highway 119 and Orange Street, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch.
Paramedics responded and located the person suffering from major injuries. They were transported to a hospital for further treatment.
It’s unknown at this time what led up to the collision. Someone had called 911 to report seeing a pedestrian down on the side of the road. The motorist involved failed to stop at the scene.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the Taft Highway pedestrian accident.
