Woman Hit by Jeep on Otay Mesa Road
SAN DIEGO COUNTY, Calif. (Oct. 10, 2023) — A 23-year-old woman was seriously injured in a pedestrian accident on Otay Mesa Road at Heritage Road in Otay Mesa.
The young woman sustained serious injuries in the collision when she was hit by a driver in a 2016 Jeep Compass, the Times of San Diego reported.
The woman had been walking southbound on the west side of 6500 Otay Mesa Road.
She began to cross near 1600 Heritage Road just after midnight when the driver of the SUV hit her in the roadway, according to the San Diego Police Department. Police say there are no street signs or a crosswalk at this location.
Paramedics responded and rushed the injured woman to a hospital.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the crash.
