Fatal Pedestrian Accident Sierra Highway on Aug. 25th
PALMDALE, Calif. (Aug. 27, 2021) – A pedestrian accident on Sierra Highway left one man dead Wednesday night in Palmdale.
The collision happened about 9 p.m., August 25th on Sierra Highway, just south of Avenue S, according to the Antelope Valley Times.
The Palmdale man in his 30s was wearing dark clothing as he walked in traffic lanes on Sierra Highway. An oncoming 2021 Ford Explorer was traveling northbound in the No. 2 lane and its driver did not see the pedestrian. The vehicle struck the pedestrian.
Sadly, the pedestrian suffered major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. However, the coroner will release his name after notification of his family members.
Meanwhile, the 34-year-old man driving the Ford Explorer did not report any injuries.
Furthermore, witnesses to the traffic collision may call Palmdale Station’s Traffic Department at 661-272-2400. The investigation is ongoing.
