Pedestrian Injured in Accident on SR-94 in Mount Hope
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Sept. 21, 2022) — A pedestrian accident happened Wednesday morning on state Route 94 in the Mount Hope community of San Diego, authorities said.
The traffic accident occurred just after 11:15 a.m. in the westbound lanes of SR-94 near the Interstate 15, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch report.
A 73-year-old Bonita woman driving a Ford Taurus struck the man who is believed to be in his 30s.
Police closed down a freeway ramp in the area as paramedics came to help the injured person, according to the San Diego Union Tribune.
They transported the unconscious man to a hospital for treatment of a major head injury and other injuries. The person did not have his identification with him at the time of the crash.
The roadway reopened to traffic about 12:07 p.m., the CHP said.
Authorities did not mention why the person was walking on State Route 94, nor what led up to the collision.
