Man Struck by Car Critically Injured in Chollas Creek Area
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (April 8, 2024) — A 35-year-old pedestrian was badly injured in a car accident Sunday night in the Chollas Creek area of San Diego.
The collision occurred at around 10:30 p.m. on April 8th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries including a brain bleed and was transported to a hospital, according to the San Diego Union Tribune.
The man was crossing University Avenue on a green light on the east side of 54th Street, but he changed direction and walked into the path of an oncoming Toyota Camry. The 69-year-old man driving the car struck him and then stopped.
Paramedics responded and rushed the man to a hospital where he is also was treated for a fractured left fibula and liver laceration, the news report said.
Authorities are working on the case to determine fault for the pedestrian accident on University Avenue.
