SACRAMENTO, California (June 27, 2016) – A pedestrian was seriously injured in a hit-and-run collision in the area of Power Inn and Gerber roads on Monday night, according to California Highway Patrol dispatch team.
CHP first logged the incident when the person was found down in the roadway after apparently being struck by a vehicle at 9:55 p.m.
As per the report log, fire department officials along with the paramedics responded to transport the victim to a nearby hospital to be treated for major injuries.
The name and the condition of the pedestrian remained unknown at this time.
Meanwhile, a witness at the scene claimed that an unknown type of SUV also hit him. That car then drove away.
Authorities will continue to gather more information and evidence to locate the hit-and-run motorist.
