Pedestrian Esteban Ramon Renterian Killed in Santa Ana on Warner Avenue

SANTA ANA, Calif. (Aug. 17.2026) — Esteban Ramon Renterian, 35, of Bakersfield, died early Sunday morning in a pedestrian accident at Warner Avenue and Yale Street in Santa Ana.
The victim was struck and killed by a vehicle while crossing the Santa Ana intersection, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.
The traffic accident occurred around 4:53 a.m. on Aug. 16th and emergency responders from the Santa Ana Police Dept., and firefighters from the Orange County Fire Authority responded.
The victim was found injured in the roadway and was taken to a hospital where he died shortly after.
Detectives working on the case believe that Renterian was crossing southbound on Warner Avenue. He was not in a marked crosswalk when he was hit by the driver of an eastbound vehicle.
Authorities say the driver stopped and cooperated with investigators. The Santa Ana Police Department’s Collision Investigation Unit is handling the ongoing investigation into the crash.
