Woman, 71, Seriously Injured in Mission Valley Shopping Center Hit-and-Run on Northside Drive
SAN DIEGO, CA (April 16, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash seriously injured a pedestrian near a Mission Valley shopping center on Northside Drive.
According to the San Diego Union-Tribune and NBC San Diego, the accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon. Officers reported the collision on April 14 shortly before 2:15 p.m.
The incident happened when a 71-year-old woman was walking near the front entrance of the Lowe’s store on Northside Drive in the Fenton Marketplace in Mission Valley.
For an unknown reason, a vehicle then struck the elderly pedestrian. Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene, south of Friars Road.

Medical personnel found the victim left suffering from major injuries as a result of the collision. They rushed her to a hospital for treatment of fractured right femur and multiple head lacerations.
The name of the patient and her condition at this time were not disclosed. Meanwhile, police affirmed that the driver involved did not stop to render aid and fled the area.
A witness followed the motorist, but lost sight of them in North Park. Officials described the car involved as a gold 2003-model 4-door Honda Accord with a California license plate of 4ZNN918.
The Honda sustained moderate front-end damage and possible damage to the right side of the windshield upon impact. Authorities are still searching for the hit-and-run driver.
