Woman, 91, Killed Near USC; Police Seek Hit-And-Run Motorist

 Fatal Pedestrian Hit-And-Run Near USC Ellendale Place, Adams Blvd. (Aug. 2) LOS ANGELES, Calif. (August 3, 2021) — A pedestrian hit-and-run fatality crash near USC happened Monday morning in an alley in the Ellendale Place and Adams Boulevard area.

A driver backing up a pickup truck struck a 91-year-old woman as she walked through an alley near the University Park area intersection.

Also, the fatal crash happened about 7 a.m. on Monday, August 2nd, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Surveillance video captured the deadly crash. Police say the woman stopped her vehicle and got out after she hit the woman. She looked at the victim in the roadway and about three minutes later she got back in the white pickup truck and left the scene. The pickup truck appeared to be loaded with mattresses. However, authorities do not yet have a full description of the vehicle. The video shows the woman never helped the victim as required under California law.

Pedestrian Hit-and-run Near USC

Emergency responders found the woman suffering from major injuries and transported her to a hospital where she later died.

Authorities are seeking the public’s help identifying the suspect. The pedestrian’s name will be released after her relatives are notified of her death.

Additionally, the city offers a standing reward of up to $50,000 for information that helps authorities find the suspect responsible for the hit-and-run crime.
