Pedestrian Hit by Tire After Crash at Eighth Street and Westlake Ave
LOS ANGELES, California (June 26, 2017) — A tire flew off a vehicle and struck a pedestrian after a head-on collision on Eighth Street and Westlake Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The crash took place about 2:15 a.m. on Sunday, June 25. Police say one driver was traveling westbound on Eighth Street and the other was heading southbound on Westlake Avenue when they both collided. The impact caused the vehicle on Eighth Street to veer off the roadway and one of its wheels flew off and struck the victim. Paramedics responded and rushed the injured person to a hospital for treatment of major injuries.
