COVINA, California (May 13, 2016) — A pedestrian was hit by a silver Nissan pickup truck Friday morning at North Bonnie Cove and East Cienega avenues, a California Highway Patrol report said.
The pedestrian accident was reported about 8:58 a.m. this morning. The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Office notified the fire department to send paramedics to the scene to help the injured person. The report does not indicate who had the right-of-way, but the intersection shows three marked crosswalks and drivers have 4-way stop signs. The pickup truck was towed from the scene of the crash, a sign that there may have been significant injuries involved.
“Typically, a pedestrian has the right-of-way in a collision and it is up to the driver to yield the right-of-way to them,” said Attorney James Johnson.
Police will determine liability and issue a report with their findings.
