Pedestrian Injured in Car Accident on Lenox Drive in Emerald Hills

Woman, 67, Injured in Crash on Lenox Drive in San Diego

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (June 27, 2024) — A 67-year-old woman was injured in a pedestrian accident on Lenox Drive in the Emerald Hills neighborhood of San Diego.

The San Diego Police Department reported the car accident happened at 6:25 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25th, the Times of San Diego reported.

A 33-year-old man driving a 2005 GMC Yukon was heading westbound and struck the woman near 5100 Lenox Drive, police said.

Sun in Driver’s Eyes When Hit Woman

The driver told a SDPD officer the sun was in his eyes and he was pulling down the visor and struck the woman at roughly 10 to 15 mph.

Paramedics transported the injured woman to a hospital. She was treated for a broken ankle and had a a laceration to her scalp, police said.

Finally, the SDPD Traffic Division is heading up the investigation into the pedestrian accident on Lenox Drive.
