
Pickup Truck Hits Elderly Man
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Jan. 24, 2025) — A driver in a pickup truck struck a pedestrian crossing University Avenue at Marborough Avenue Thursday morning in the Teralta West area of San Diego.
The traffic accident occurred around 7:47 a.m. on Jan. 23rd, according to the San Diego Police Department.
Police officers responded to the 4100 block of University Avenue where a 2019 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck struck the elderly man in a crosswalk, police said.
The man was walking in a northbound direction in a crosswalk at the intersection. The southbound Toyota pickup truck struck the victim in the 4000 block of Marlborough Avenue. The 29-year-old man driving the truck stopped and paramedics were called.
An ambulance took the pedestrian to a hospital where he is being treated for a brain bleed, police said.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault.
