Woman Hospitalized After Pedestrian Accident in San Jose
SAN JOSE, Calif. (June 4, 2018) — A woman was hospitalized early Monday morning with major injuries after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in a black SUV at Monterey Road and 1st Street, according to the San Jose Mercury News.
Police told the newspaper that the driver in the SUV was heading northbound on Monterey Road at Alma Avenue. About 2:58 a.m., the driver struck the female pedestrian at 1st Street and drove off without stopping to help her.
The woman was being treated at the hospital for life-threatening injuries, police said.
TRAFFIC ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION
Police are investigating this collision and hope to locate the suspect driver who fled without stopping to help this woman. There are many unanswered questions about what happened including whether or not speed or alcohol were factors.
