FRESNO, California (February 3, 2017) – A pedestrian was killed after a suspected hit-and-run collision in the area of Elm and North avenues on Thursday evening, according to The Fresno Bee.
The accident took place around 6:30 p.m., near Evergreen Market.
As per the article, Fresno police said a man was found severely wounded after being struck by a vehicle. The victim was transported to Community Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.
The name of the deceased has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin, although he was described as a man in his late 40s or early 50s.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the driver involved did not stop to render aid and fled the scene. The suspect, 27-year-old Daniel Ventura, was later arrested. Your Central Valley reported that Ventura was booked into the Fresno County jail on charges of vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run.
