Fatal Pedestrian Accident on State Route 20 in Clearlake Oaks

CLEARLAKE OAKS, Calif., (August 4, 2026) — A pedestrian died Monday night in a traffic accident involving a blue Hyundai Elantra on Highway 20, in the Clearlake Oaks area.

The incident occurred on August 3rd at approximately 7:04 p.m. on State Route 20. According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian, whose identity has not yet been released, was struck by the blue Hyundai Elantra. The pedestrian was reportedly lying on the roadway when the collision occurred.

Emergency responders, including the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CDF), were dispatched to the scene. The driver of the Hyundai sustained injuries described as serious.

The roadway was reportedly reopened by 10:05 p.m. after the investigation and clearing of the site were completed.

Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision. They have requested that any witnesses to the incident come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.
