Woman Struck in Crosswalk by Speeding Vehicle

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (July 23, 2024) – A hit-and-run driver struck and killed a woman walking in a crosswalk at Obama Boulevard and La Cienega Boulevard near Baldwin Hills.

The deadly crash occurred at 1:55 a.m. to 5798 W. Obama Blvd., according to KTLA News.

Los Angeles Police Department officers and paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department responded and located the woman deceased on scene. The woman’s boyfriend, who was with her and witnessed the crash, was at her side. The woman was later identified as Yvonne Parks, 40.

Authorities are searching for the suspect who fled in a dark-colored Toyota heading north on La Cienega Boulevard after he hit the woman.

Investigators are working to locate the suspect who fled the scene.
