STANTON, Calif. (Jan. 2, 2018) — An 81-year-old man died Tuesday evening when he was struck by a vehicle at Magnolia and Cerritos avenues, according to Orange County Sheriff’s officials.
The unidentified man was walking at the intersection when an oncoming vehicle driven by 18-year-old Amgad Anwar struck him, police said. The teenager stopped and was questioned by police and given a sobriety test. Police do not suspect alcohol or drugs were a factor.
The injured pedestrian was transported to UCI Medical Center in Orange where he was later pronounced dead.
