Pedestrian Struck by Train in Long Beach Area
Long Beach, Calif. (May 20, 2021) – A train struck and killed a pedestrian in Long Beach on Thursday morning near the Jeff Davis Avenue crossing.
The Long Beach Police Department reported the fatal Long Beach train accident around 8:15 a.m. on May 20, police said.
Police are working to find out why the pedestrian was on the tracks.
The pedestrian will be identified after his or her family is notified about the collision.

Meanwhile, the train stopped for nearly two hours as authorities pieced together what happened.
It’s unknown at this time what led up to the fatal crash, but investigators are working on determining fault for the person’s death.
