Pedestrian Killed in Late-Night Crash on SR-104 in South Sacramento
SOUTH SACRAMENTO, Calif. (May 30, 2025) — A pedestrian was struck and killed Thursday night along State Route 104 near Clay Station Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred around 10:17 p.m. on May 29. CHP dispatch logs indicate the unidentified female pedestrian—later listed as a Jane Doe—was walking along the right shoulder and reportedly making gestures at passing vehicles and entering traffic lanes before the collision.
The vehicle involved, a silver Chevrolet, was also located on the right shoulder. The driver remained on scene and cooperated with authorities. No other vehicles were reported in the area at the time.
Fire personnel arrived shortly after the incident and confirmed the fatality. The coroner was called to the scene, and the pedestrian was officially pronounced deceased later in the evening.
The road was temporarily closed from Laguna Road to the nearby canal while officials investigated and cleared the scene. It reopened shortly after midnight.
CHP continues to investigate the circumstances leading up to the crash and has not released the identity of the victim pending next-of-kin notification.
