
Skateboard Rider Killed in Labor Day Car Accident in Carmichael
CARMICHAEL, Calif. (Sept. 3, 2024) — A pedestrian riding a skateboard died Monday night in a crash at Fair Oaks Boulevard and Marshall Avenue in Carmichael.
The deadly crash occurred around 8 p.m. on Sept. 2nd, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officers responded to the crash scene at the Sacramento County intersection. A driver in a Chevrolet Suburban SUV reportedly struck the victim in the #2 lane. The motorist and the skateboarder were both traveling in the same direction prior to the collision, according to ABC 10 News.
The person riding the skateboard was down in the roadway and a brown SUV was stopped at the scene.
Police closed down the intersection of Fair Oaks Boulevard and Marshall Avenue to conduct an investigation into what happened.
Authorities did not suspect DUI was a factor in the crash.
