Raquel Zapata, 42, Killed in Lompoc DUI Crash on Ocean Avenue
LOMPOC, CA (August 2, 2022) – Raquel Zapata was killed after a DUI crash on Ocean Avenue in Lompoc.
Police identified the 42-year-old Lompoc woman as the victim of the fatal collision which took place on Saturday, July 30.
The incident happened when a vehicle struck Raquel Zapata in the city of Lompoc. Police said the car hit her in the the 600 block of West Ocean Avenue.
Pedestrian Hit by Car
The KEYT News and Noozhawk wrote that the accident occurred at around 1:49 a.m. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and found the victim down on the side of the road.
Raquel Zapata ended up suffering from serious injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel rushed her to a hospital, where she died.
Meanwhile, police located the driver nearby and determined she was under the influence at the time. They soon arrested her for DUI bodily injury and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
Family members set up a GoFundMe page to help cover the funeral expenses of Raquel Zapata following the DUI crash. The Lompoc DUI collision is still under investigation.
