Roni Gage, 39, Killed in Dublin DUI Crash on Dougherty Road
DUBLIN, CA (August 2, 2022) – Pedestrian Roni Gage was killed after a DUI crash on Dougherty Road in Dublin.
Police identified the 39-year-old Dublin man as the victim of the fatal collision which took place on Sunday night.
The incident happened when Roni Gage was walking in the southbound lanes of Dougherty Road in Dublin. Police said a Chevrolet SUV in the area then struck her.
The car hit the pedestrian in the 6200 block of the road, just north of Dublin Boulevard. The KRON News and Pleasanton Weekly wrote that the accident occurred on July 31 at around 10 p.m., north of the Interstate 580.
Drunk Driver Hits Pedestrian
Firefighters arrived at the scene and found Roni Gage down on the ground. She ended up suffering from severe injuries as a result of the collision.
Paramedics pronounced the victim dead. Meanwhile, police determined that the man driving the SUV was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
Officers also located a child inside his car. They soon arrested the driver on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence, DUI and child abuse.
